Before we begin

To record a story (video) you need to have downloaded and installed the SiteStory mobile application onto your mobile device.

The SiteStory mobile app is available for Android and iOS and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Recording a Story is the same as recording a video on your mobile device. Simply select the Site you want to record a Story for and hit record. 

• You can record Stories in landscape mode, which is good for drive-throughs or portrait mode, which is good for walk-throughs.

• Stories will be recorded in 720p quality and can be a maximum of 20 minutes.  

• The Story is automatically uploaded to the SiteStory platform once you stop recording.

How to record a Story

1. Navigate to the Sites tab in the mobile app.

Note: The Site list will sort any Site within 1 KM of your location to the top.

2. Identify the Site for which you wish to record a Story in the list. 

Tip: You can scroll the list to find the Site or use the Search field at the top of the screen to search by the Site number (job/booking number) or the Site name (job/booking name).

3. Click the inline record button for the Site. This will open the video record screen.

4. Rotate your mobile device to landscape or portrait mode to suit the site you are recording.

5. Click the record button to start your Story recording. You will see a 2,1 countdown, and the recording will begin.

Tip: Always rotate your device before pressing the record start button, and not afterwards, to ensure that the orientation of the recording is correct.

Note: The maximum recording length for a single Story is 20 minutes. This should allow you to record a continuous Story for most Sites. However, you can record multiple Stories for a single Site if required. There is no limit to the number of Stories recorded per Site.

6. Click the stop recording button once you have completed your recording. The Story will immediately start to upload automatically to the SiteStory platform.

7. Once you have stopped recording, the Story view will load, where you can playback your recording and see details about the Story recording.

8. After you stop recording, The Story will automatically upload to the SiteStory cloud platform.

Note: If your Workspace is integrated with Traffio, all Stories uploaded to SiteStory will be automatically posted to the Booking in Traffio and available under the Booking -> Stories tab.
